The short version

The calculator itself runs entirely in your browser. The figures you type in - your age, qualifying years, forecast amount - are never sent to a server or stored by us. Separately, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and in future may show ads via Google AdSense. Both are gated behind the cookie consent banner and only activate if you accept.

Who we are

NI Pension Check is an independent, individually-run website. For any privacy query, contact masifacconsultant@gmail.com.

Calculator data

All calculator inputs and results are processed locally in your browser using JavaScript. This site is a static website with no backend server to receive that data, so it is technically not possible for us to collect or store the figures you enter into the calculator.

Analytics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate site usage - which pages are visited, approximate device and browser type, and general location derived from your IP address. This helps us understand which guides are useful and where the site is confusing. Analytics cookies are only set after you accept them via the cookie banner; if you reject or ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set.

Advertising

We intend to use Google AdSense to display advertising on this site. Once active, AdSense may use cookies to show ads and measure their performance, and - only with your consent - to personalise which ads you see. As with analytics, this is gated by the same consent banner using Google's Consent Mode, and defaults to non-personalised, non-tracking behaviour until you actively accept.

Your choices

You can accept or reject non-essential cookies via the banner shown on your first visit, and change your choice at any time from the Cookie Policy page.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data we hold about you, and the right to object to processing based on consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Since we do not collect personal calculator data and analytics/advertising data is pseudonymous and processed by Google under its own privacy terms, most requests are best directed to Google directly for data tied to your Google account, or to us at the email above for anything site-specific. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.

Third parties

Google Analytics and Google AdSense are provided by Google. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google itself processes data.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if what we collect or how we use it changes - for example, once AdSense is actually live rather than planned. Check back periodically.
