The short version
The calculator itself runs entirely in your browser. The figures you type in - your age, qualifying years, forecast amount - are never sent to a server or stored by us. Separately, Google Analytics loads only after you accept analytics. The site is funded by advertising from Google AdSense. Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland see Google’s consent message, which manages advertising choices. Accepting analytics does not grant advertising consent.

Calculator data
All calculator inputs and results are processed locally in your browser using JavaScript. The calculator code does not send these inputs or results to us or to analytics. Standard website requests still reach the hosting provider; this is separate from the calculator figures.
Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate site usage - which pages are visited, approximate device and browser type, and general location derived from your IP address. This helps us understand which guides are useful and where the site is confusing. Analytics cookies are only set after you accept them via the cookie banner; if you reject or ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set.
Advertising
We integrate Google AdSense, which may process network information such as your IP address, browser information and consent choices when its script loads. When ads are enabled, Google and its advertising partners may process identifiers and use cookies or local storage for ad delivery, measurement and, where you consent, personalisation. Google’s European regulations message manages advertising choices for eligible visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. An analytics acceptance is not advertising consent. Your choices
Use the analytics banner or Analytics preferences to manage analytics. Use Privacy and cookie settings at the bottom of the page to reopen Google’s advertising-consent message where applicable. The Cookie Policy explains these separate controls.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data we hold about you, and the right to object to processing based on consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Contact us using the email above for requests relating to our processing. Google provides separate privacy controls for its own processing; this does not remove your right to contact us. We do not collect the calculator figures you enter. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.
